Slightly disappointing start to our bumps campaign. We knew we should have been at least evenly matched with Downing M2 in front of us based on previous head races, but our performance didn't show that.

The awful conditions didn't help, and not knowing when the four minute gun was going to go only made us more nervous. The start was very rushed as a result, and FaT III took a little off us. Inevitably we moved away, holding station with Downing for a while, but never really threatened. Emily called the pushes but we didn't respond in the way we had in previous head races, and Downing pulled away.

Round first post Downing got whistles on Corpus for the overbump, which they achieved about halfway down the reach. At which point we wound down.

At our best, we should have given Downing a really good chase, but it was not to be. I do think it was mainly nerves that got the better of us.
