Conditions: Sun, slight crosswind on reach. Pretty good.

Crew: still missing Peter, but with the invicible Charlie Adams.

Race time: 8.45, 4 seconds of Caius M1 (8.41).

After a very strong start, we settled into a nice rhythm quite quickly. Jon took us on a nice line round FP, and the crew all continued to hold our platform as we moved into grassy. Another good corner, and a strong push sat us up for the middle of the race. The rate was slightly high, and the rhythm was not quite there, though the power certainly was.

Big pushes out of Ditton meant that along the middle of the reach the splits dropped a little, but we corrected that and refound our rhythm coming under the railway bridge. With the finish near, boat speed picked back up and we all *enjoyed* our 5 extra BOOM calls. 

Still speed to come, but a nice solid row of the head course.  

Sorry about the extra "boom" calls lads, bloody wonderful first 2k, cannot wait for Poplar. Max and Adam nailed Grassy for me.  Jon.
